All talk here. What a game for Katich 97 and 37* as well as 6 wickets including 4/15 off 5. I laughed hard when I saw this, I didn't even realise Katich still bowled! If Katich continues his form into the first test, they are going to find him hard to drop if Clarke returns for the 2nd. I'd be worried if I was Phil Jaques, he will have to perform. This could be really good for Australia, a bit of selection competition could see some batsmen really going hard and piling a lot of runs of Also Johnson went for nearly 6 an over in the first innings, 2 wickets. Maybe he will be found out in this tour... If the Windies are good enough...

If supercoach may be allowed a little schadenfraude here......
it would serve Clarke right if the 'self appointed next australian captain' found it difficult to get back in. Go Jacques ..go Katich. Maybe they would have to drop my mate from charters towers!

Unfortunately the Aussie selectors are very stubborn with Symonds and its going to take a very long dry spell for him to be dropped.
I still find it unfair calling Clarke the 'self appointed next australian captain'.

clarke's improved personality wise from his early days,
he's still getting his money stolen by lara bingle...
anyway the controversy surrounding the caps they wore was ridiculous
they weren't playing a test they can wear tour caps

Personally I dont Like Phil Jaques as a batsman. Something bout his batting that i dont like.
Like I've said for the past 2-3 years Katich is the man for the Australian squad. So under-rated. But now his boarderline.
And for the pup well i reckon his more mature in his cricket now ever since captaining the Australian team for like two 20/20 games.

Its beyond me how you become more mature as a cricketer after playing Twenty20 haha.
Unless this is a figure of speech Im confused... Surely she has enough money from her own success!

Its crucial for the Windies to get Johnson out quickly tomorrow, so many times we see our night watchmans make a nuisance of themselves. From there Symonds probably wont add much. Looking forward to seeing how Haddin goes.
Katich and Jaques need a big one in the 2nd innings....

Australia in a fairly good position, Windies are 3/115. Stuey Clark all 3 wickets. Johnson is useless, get someone better in NOW! (Well... For the next test). Symonds leaves Jacko and I eating humble pie, good knock of 70 not out. Good to see your commitment Matt, getting up at 7!!!! To watch Maybe Ill go to bed a bit earlier tonight and do that tomorrow

i got up at 6 to watch it, saw all of clarks wickets but windies must've dug themselves out of a hole, they were struggling at 3/60
australias tail remains my main problem

What about the top order How did that happen..... We are in serious trouble now. This will be a true test of Symonds now, if he can build Australia to a big total I will never doubt again. Hodge could also put himself into contention for retaining his spot with a big innings here. Johnson pisses me off. Bowls crap to all the good batsmen then rings in and takes two tail wickets, so he still looks ok. One thing with Hilfys recent form is that he has always gotten a high order batsman out. Thats more valuable than a couple of tail wickets

is hilfy in the squad with them? if not screw him give bollinger a chance.

I didn't say that, I was just talking Hilfy up and Johnson down like I normally do. In these circumstances yes, Bollinger in Nonsense out.

Dont worry we still got Haddin and Lee still to come to the crease. I reckon these guys might be the difference for the Aussies.

were not in a lot of trouble yet but the pitch is lively and windies have a decent bowling line up, if we lose 2 quick wickets then were in a bit of trouble...

well symonds 79 only person to get over 30 saved our asses..... tom do u agree that without symonds we would have pretty much be screwed? i mean next to symonds the next highest scores we 27 by hodge and 23 by haddin and that was it for double figure scores.

well, i hate to say i told you so,
again, i swear i've said that so...
anyway,
if west indies have had a better chance coming into a test match to beat the aussies i haven't heard it
their bowlers bowled better than i've ever seen them Fidel Edwards was accurate and got up to 94.2 mph Darren Powell the same except 87.4 Dwayne Bravo as energetic as ever,
they'll be pumped up and should win it
Chanderpaul inspired them, and the Aussies just didn't adapt well enough
if there's a spot open for the next match, it will be hodges,
katich won't play another test, ever

sigh well windies didnt win, our bowlers demolished windies batting order, katich will player another test again but im not so sure about jaques, this is a strange time for Australia, with all our top line batsmen retiring and our top order not preforming we could find ourselves being constantly by the better teams such as Sth Africa, India (which we saw this season when they did out play us) and even England........

Woohoo! Nick you once again show your superior cricketing know-how. This is Australia we are talking about, Windies were always going to need to work very hard for that total, I only rated them as an outside chance. Even with a waste of space like Johnson in the team (imagine if we had better ) we cleaned them up pretty comfortably. Clark is the new McGrath.
