Jason Robinson did a great job on Monday last week. Only good performance I've seen so far.

is it just me or are the storm allowed to get away with more in the ruck and get more penalties given to them rather than against them. i also think that manly has twice had unfiar reffing that penalise us but not the oposition for the same infraction.

Probably, NRL favours Storm, Roosters, Broncos, most other teams get screwed over.
Funniest thing on the weekend, was listening to the Souths game on 2GB and suddenly Ray Haddley goes "Ive just recieved a report from Blue Tongue. A Russel Smith report. He just took 5 and a half minutes looking at a possible try and............. HE GAVE IT REFS CALL!!!!"

By now im assuming that you've all seen the Cuthbertson send off decision, what do you guys make of it? In my opinion sending him off was a harsh decision, Hampstead (who in my opinion is past his best and is a poor ref) should have binned Cuthbertson and then let the judiciary punish him. He'll probably get 4-6 weeks for that shot and it was a bad, he did hit Thurling flush on the face, but i've seen other tackles that have hit the head not even been punished with a stint in the bin.
I'm not saying that this was a horrible, inept decision but I do think that Hampstead's decision was the wrong one. what do you guys reckon? Also i'm really getting sick of having to wait for the video ref to make a ruling on every single try. I mean come on it's getting to the point where the onfield refs are becoming redundent, the NRL needs to revert the game back. Get rid of this idea that the ref can check to see if the ball is stripped when he rules knock on, take power away from the video ref and give it back to the on field ref. I don't like watching the NRL anymore because it's extremely boring.

Cuthbertson shouldn't have been sent off. Considering the amount of crap players get away with without even seeing the bin, there is no way that was a send off offence. And in my opinion, since he got sent off in that game his sentence should be shorter. IMO the bin should be used more, and in a game where it is used then maybe that is a send off. But in our game where its a rare occasion to see a binning or a send off, that is deffinately not a send off.
Also, apparently you get penalised now for running next to one of your team mates? That David Williams try was a TRY no doubts, but apparently it's obstruction if you run next to your own player? This is the second time I've seen this happen and I cant understand the video refs thinking. Obstruction is when a player delibrately impedes an opposition so that cant make the play or a player runs into the defensive line, possibly causing a player to miss out on an opportunity to stop a try. A shepherd is when you run behind your own player. I don't see any mention of running next to your own player there? That decision was a rort and I really wonder whether those video refs have ANY common sense at all.
Cant agree with your opinion that NRL is getting boring however, 2 good games last night, the Eels Broncos finish was fantastic ;D.

I don't know about the Williams decision, the Raiders player was impeaded by one of our guys, I don't think that it was a bad decision.

But he ran next to his own player... Not behind. Now, O'Donnel was just sent off in the Cowboys game for a raised elbow. Im fine with the decision, it was the second time he had done it in the game and he got Lewis right in the neck with his elbow (Sucked in Lewis : But what I must say again is that if these offences are send off offences then other infringements in the game need to be punished more using the bin. Also I think Cowboys last try should not have been given. Im not blaming the ref, on debut I thought he had quite a good game. Harrigan should not have given it back to him in the first place. I thought it was pretty clear that the ball was dropped, I couldn't see how he could have grounded the ball from that position after it came loose. I think if the Cowboys didn't get up cheering, say it was a less significant time in the game, it wouldn't have been given.

Sigh are you serious, the Raiders player was impeeded!!!!! It doesn't matter he's next to, beside or in front of. O'Donnell didnt lift the elbow, he showed forearm when he attempted to palm and push the guy off, everyone does it and he got sent off because we saw a send off on monday and Oakes hit Kemp with a deliberate elbow.

Shayne Hayne should be sacked after this pathetic performance, He is probably the worst ref in the NRL today, he is completely S^&*T and if anyone wants to see why, check out the Fitzgibbon "Held up" call and the Creagh tackled without the ball incident. What a joke.

Hayne had his money on no points being scored in the first half, he's laughing Looks like Fitzgibbons was a try, need a closer look though, don't see how the ball couldn't have touched the ground. Creagh tackled without the ball... Well the video should have told him a penalty was warrented, why didn't he?
