I know most of you are Manly supporters and revel in the demise of the once not so mighty Teddies, but just so Jacko knows, the red and blacks finished Minor Premiers of the NSW Cup (old Premier League comp) on the weekend with a round to play.
Trophy cabinet is very 'bear' but maybe some silverware might finally make its way to the lower north shore (as opposed to across the Spit).
Go on you Bears!

Jacko: Widders will likely be in the pie queue buying up every single one. I reckon the Castleford CEO must be blind, because why in a pink fit he would sign someone who is quite simply ordinary is beyond me.....and to a three year contract At least he won't soil the red and black anymore. As for potential players for Souths: There are a few guys in the team that are Souths signed players: Ben and Jaiman Lowe, John Tamanaika (who I understand has been signed by the Cowboys), Nat Barnes, George Ndaira (how no one has signed up this bloke is beyond me) and Jeremy Smith. But there are quite a few Bears signed players who are pretty damn good - mainly Ryan Verlinden (prop / 2nd Row), Greg Nicholls (centre) and Samu Wara (fullback). These three in particular are NRL all over. I reckon the bunnies will make a play for these three which would be good. Bears got a big match against Cronulla this weekend, then the semis.

Bears lost 34-22.
Hope they can turn things around for the semis.
They still get the minor though right?

Pricks. They were up 18-6 at HT apparently. They face Balmain this Sat in the first semi. Not an easy match. Also missing some key players but thats the way it goes.

Jacko, Was out there......and went by train......and was a brand new train with all these cameras etc so instead of risking the $400 slap for drinking on the train, we had to sit at Leumeah station and down the beers before entering the 'dry' ground. Manly were impressive against Balmain, really running away with the 2nd half. As for the Bears, less said the better. Wests were sensational though and with blokes like Dane Laurie and RyanO'Hara giving them a roll on they never were headed. Train home was bloody long - especially after being smashed. www.sportingbet.com.au are betting on this competition and I'd have a few dollars on Wests winning it. Manly vs Wenty will be a good game but wests touched Manly right up last week too and Wenty haven't been playing so well. Biggest disappointment is that Souths didn't sign Ryan Verlinden (Norths player, not a Souths contracted one). You watch this bloke go next year at Cronulla. Played 3 years for the Bears and Ricky Stuart rang him up and said get right on down here and sign a top 25 contract. My biggest hope now is that on the tour to England when we go to the league in Bradford or Leeds, I hope to god they are playing Castleford....where Dean Widders has gone. I want to spend 80 minutes berating that lump of lard because the moment he put his fat foot into the red and black, things went pear-shaped....bit like his figure. Lazy good for nothing overpaid...I better not go on. Russell Crowe said he loved the bloke. Shows what an imbecile Russell Crowe is. Season over, get on the Maggies. Be good to see a traditional club win it in the centenary year. As for the Bears.......at least some things never change
