Yeah Mat...wot has the number 9 got to do with batting?
you need to kmow this one to get thru ur level 1 in feb.
The shape ur arms and bat make when your playing a drive or foward defensive, high front elbow is key!!!

I found this picture and thought it showed this well.
Although I must admit I think he's pushing at the ball and playing it to far in front of his pad. sourced from:http://www.engadinedragonscc.org.au/images/battingstance2.gif

I found a pretty good photo of a great example of the "figure 9" by the great supercoach at beverly job park in the 07/08 season.

Ok..Ok...DLE......I will add a couple of zeros to the draft contract! Can u blow up an A4 hard copy and i will laminate and put it on the wall at the CPCC cricket academy at plateau park
OK guys.....check out the bloke at square leg...I reckon that player was so impressed with the scoach 9 that he adopted a premeditated step forward and across when batting.
Can you guys explain how that premeditated footwork relates to the fact that he has been dismissed three times pulling this season.

i found this picture on my old camera taken by the one and only dle.
I'll try explain how the premeditated footwork relates to how the person at square leg in that photo has been dismissed by plaing the pullshot.
As i was coached by some old man usually the pull shot is played infront of square and with all crickte shots in the book you require footwork and anticpation are vital. Maybe the player isnt rolling their wrists ? at the moment of the impact to keep the ball on the ground rather than in the air.
Watch in this video of Australian captain Ricky Ponting hitting a great pull shot of the great new zealand all-round Chris Carins and watch the way he keeps his head still at all times.

I reckon the key is the fact that you mention that he steps across, Because he's stepping across on the front foot he's not able to open himself enough to play the pull shot properly when he move back and across.
