This is the team I would want running out for me.
Katich Haddin Klinger Clarke M Hussey Carseldine White Hopes Bracken Hilfy Tait
We really need some experience opening the batting. Katich really should have been picked. I don't think Hughes is ready to be thrown in the one day team and I think Warner needs more time in domestic. Haddin has been struggling so far down the order and I think he would be much more comfortable up the order, and since we need another opener I chucked him in there.
Klinger has been a fantastic form, he just got state player of the year. Our number 3 is out, so another number 3 comes in. Clarke and Huss hold their spots providing experience in the mid order.
At number 6 I have Lee Carseldine. He has been in unstopable form lately, batting very well in all sorts of different situations, winning games for QLD. He would be very handy to have down the order. Can also bowl if needed.
White slots in at number 7 for the power factor towards the end of an innings. Can whip few a couple of overs if needed.
Hopes has been bowling well so he stays in. Throw him in ahead of White if we are in trouble. The other option would be to open with Hopes, put Haddin 4th and slot everyone else back.
Bracken is a no brainer. Hilfy has been bowling better than Johnson, so Mitchy can take another break and prepare for the tests. He can come back in if Hilfy or Tait fails. When Tait gets it right, he is real good. So lets just hope for the best with him. I was thinking about chucking Noffke in but I think he's injured.
12th Man David Hussey. Sorry but his form just hasn't been good enough.
Thoughts?
