Gee thats a shame and a good sign for us at the same time. The crowd was great yesterday, every ball being cheered in, Smith and McKenzie did a great job to concentrate through it.
Suprised it's only half full, England still had a chance to win and a full days play was nearly garunteed. Of course next year as an ashes test it will be fuller, but it does show that if we get up early we shouldn't have too much trouble getting the tickets ;D Now we just got to hope that England get it to 5 days next year!

in contrast to last time there are no ODI's while we are there but the test at Cardiff and Lords. The last day of the australia v england a is the day we arrive in manchester.
It is very difficult to get a block of tix to a test match in england..the grounds are small and test tix are preferred to ODI.
I am specualting now but I think we will end up making a day at the Cardiff test as an optional extra....tix will be hard to get and it is a long haul from Manchester.
we will be in the london area for the last day of the lords test.they don't sell fifth day tix till the day....so if the game goes to the 5th day and the weather is good and we can get up real early and queue for 4 hours then we MAY get to see an ashes test at Lords.

Been great seeing the Poms touch up the Saffers, and listening to all the 'new dawn'hoohaa........on the back of their Olympics triumph. All in all making for an even more important Ashes Series and they keep talking/writing about it out here.
On Ashes Tickets - been roving around........hens teeth. They are almost impossible to get hold of, cricket clubs in the UK are getting allocations etc. Maybe a best bet will be to see if some can be purchased off Tour Operators in Oz but they make money off the whole package and no doubt will be reluctant to part with them.
So just thought I'd let you know....

Coach,
Back in pommie-land after Amsterdam...need a holiday after those 9 days.....and a new liver. Especially with the Aussies beating the Dutch in football on my last night....been waiting for that one!!!
Amsterdam seems all set for next year. Will discuss some options with you when back end of next week.
Ashes Tickets: My god, I know people who are already prepared to pay 5 times face value to go from touts.....and they are pommies! There is so much hype and so on surrounding this series especially after KP successfully took over the Captaincy and they battered the Saffers in the one dayers....you know what the poms are like...win a few 50 a side games and start talking Ashes.
Anyway, I think maybe the best option would be to find pubs on the non-game days and literally sit from first to last ball - they will be glued to the TV all series in the UK so there will be no shortage of atmosphere.
I think in all seriousness it is only those with limitless disposable income who will be able to actually get a look in...but as a group we are pretty much doomed.
Just hope we do not get the weather they have had here in the last two summers because it has been awful!
Back end of next week.
Ade

Wow, betting for the Ashes opened today. Suprising, theres still ages to go! England 3.00 Drawn Series 6.00 Australia 1.70 Will be interesting to see how things change between now and the beginning. I think 1.70 is very generous for Aus
