Supercoach has always thought that the classification of spinners as off spin and leg spin and finger spinner and wrist spinner etc was inadequate and outdated.
Supercoach's spinner key factors....
1. Can he get high spin, rotation, and revs on the ball? 2. Direction of wrist action at delivery 3.finger action 4.angle of wrist at release 5.seam control
Supercoach's classification.....
1. Anticlockwise spinner or AC spinner (anticlockwise wrist rotation at release) 2. Clockwise spinner or C spinner (clockwise wrist rotation at release) 3. Zero spinner or 0 spinner (no real spin/low revs) 4. Finger flicker or FF spinner ( use a finger flick from behind the ball)
Some examples...
DLE, D Cullen= C spinner.
Shane Warne, B Rowse= AC spinner.
Richo,C White, GB= 0 spinner.
J Iverson,J Gleeson = FF spinner.
Now it seems to me that Mendis is a C spinner who bowls the doosra with a FF style.

supercoach has always thought that speaking in third person is better than first person for some reason 1. yes 2. slight variations, generally the bowler or the left i think 3. tweaking 4. pretty straight 5. perfect ,

Gee we are really pushing the boundaries with this topic, haha. But if talk stays on topic it will remain open, simple as that. Interesting suggestions there, but wouldn't the classification of clockwise or anticlockwise become a bit confusing with left handers and right handers? Also some spin bowlers use both wrist spin as well as flicking their fingers to generate turn, what happens here? HAHAHAHAHA Putting Matt alongside GB when it comes to spin is a bit of a mismatch ;D

the finger flickers bend their index finger BEHIND the bal and then flick it out at delivery. It is posiible to bowl both off spin and leg spin this way.It is very difficult to control and that is the reason that very few of them have made it.
remember..you ain't got control of line and length you got nothing.
well Gb and Richo tend to bowl quite a few nude balls when it comes to spin.

Alrite, what about those that bowl out of the back of the hand (I think Murali does this), this is all wrist but it is not turning clockwise or anticlockwise.

DLE, D Cullen= C spinner. I dont get this. Even though I do copy Dan Cullens Bowling actions does being a C Spinner mean a good thing? Or a Bad Thing??

Perhaps you need to read the post more carefully. C Spinner means you rotate your wrist in a clockwise direction. Its neither good or bad just describes your action.

DLE....just 'turn the doorknob' and 'don't sign anything'.
TC...lets face it ...Murali doesn't bowl he straightens the elbow particularly on the doosra.

Here are some of my examples of the spinners I know in the CPCC Club. Reply Back if you are offended by any of my comments.

TC...lets face it ...Murali doesn't bowl he straightens the elbow particularly on the doosra. True, but he's been allowed to do, and that has nothing to do with the action of his hands, so how would you clasify him?

Whats the point of even putting me in, I dont even bowl spin. And you are also wrong, whenever I do happen to bowl spin I can actually turn it pretty well. In fact a long long time ago I did bowl some legspin and on occasions it was quite effective

DLE,,,does H Clarke get high revs on the ball? ........explain the realtionship between turn the doorknob and C spin?
TC...Murali legal deliveries are C spin. the only reason he can bowl the doosra is that he straighten s the elblow ie throws. it is possible (but not easy) to bowl a c spin doosra without trowing it.Saqlain did it.
maybe one of these threads we will move on to the supercoach spin matrix.
