Anyone know when the british grand prix will be on in 2009?
Will it still be at Silverstone?

I am not a motor racing fan but I had heard there was a dispute over continuing at Silverstone.

I believe the premier league teams start playing some pre season games about the third week of July. We should be in the London area at this time. Now the epl season has finished london teams in the premier league in 09-10 will be ? Arsenal Spurs Fulham Chelsea any others? do the 'big' name clubs have stadium tours?

TC...that is a very good question.....in contrast to last time there are no ODI's while we are there but the test at Cardiff and Lords. The last day of the australia v england a is the day we arrive in manchester.
It is very difficult to get a block of tix to a test match in england..the grounds are small and test tix are preferred to ODI.
I am specualting now but I think we will end up making a day at the Cardiff test as an optional extra....tix will be hard to get and it is a long haul from Manchester.
we will be in the london area for the last day of the lords test.they don't sell fifth day tix till the day....so if the game goes to the 5th day and the weather is good and we can get up real early and queue for 4 hours then we MAY get to see an ashes test at Lords.

Thanks Jacko. I'd love to go to one of the tests, even if it means getting up rediculously early Now we have to hope the Poms put up a good enough fight to get to the final day!

Supercoach - I knew I married a pom for a good reason - her mum is a cricket lover (Yorkshire member and all). I will see what she might be able to find out from her cricket contacts re tickets for Cardiff alothugh probably not a hell of a lot.
The biggest issue for Cardiff is it is the first Ashes test in Wales for donkeys (if at all). Every welshman and his sheep will be there but there will be a ways to get hold of tickets.
Just checking things out, there are direct trains from Manchester to Cardiff and on Aug 2008 prices a return ticket is about $80. Cardiff is an awesome place to go out in so it could be a fun trip down there if time allows.
I am 75% chance to be in Holland and Uk in late August/Sept so if you want me to suss anything out while there, let me know. Also can use the in-laws place in Yorkshire as a base to have tickets sent etc.
Regards,
Ade
